Peptide Therapy
At Flourish Wellness Center we are determined to stay on the path that provides the most advanced anti-aging and regenerative science to bear on the optimal health of our patients.
As a Regenerative Medicine Physician I am fully certified in Peptide Therapies which hold great promise in a broad variety of medical applications. Peptides are molecules which enhance cellular function on many levels. There are over 7000 know to science naturally occurring in nature and research is ongoing in mastering their use in the quest for optimal human performance. They are typically akin to fragments of protein molecules and are typically around 14 plus amino acids long with some variations. Peptides are instrumental in healing brain injuries, bone and ligament injuries or surgeries, gut issues, weight loss and body composition improvement, cognitive enhancement , anxiety and depression, and even sexual functioning among other uses.
Two peptides that I utilize frequently in the arena of tissue repair are BPC-157 and Thymosan Beta 4 (sometimes referred to as TB 500). Both peptides accelerate boney union, connective tissue /ligament /tendon repair and notably BPC-157 is extremely effective in promoting healing of inflammatory bowel conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. BPC-157 has also been used in healing corneal lacerations.
Both peptides have a modicum of nootropic (neural tissue) benefit and can enhance cognitive function as well.
A word of caution to those in professional sports and also Olympians…that is that USADA (United States Antidoping Association) and WADA(World Antidoping Association) have listed BPC-157 in their compendium of banned substances even though there is absolutely not a shred of evidence that it actually enhances performance as anabolic steroids do. The International Peptide Society, of which I am a member, is hopeful this will be reversed.
For the non-professional these two peptides are incredibly effective in acceleration of healing and I utilize them in my patients daily.
